OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE The Administration Committee of the Lahore High Court on Saturday promoted as many as 33 judicial officers to district and sessions judges and additional district and sessions judges. Presided over by LHC Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry, the committee also granted confirmation to as many as 96 civil judge-cum-judicial officers others in the office besides carrying out other business relating to the officers of lower judiciary. The following 11 additional district and sessions judges have been prompted as district and sessions judges. Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry, Safdar Saleem Shahid, Muhammad Saleem Khan, Muhammad Azam, Muhammad Tanveer Meer, Bahadar Ali Khan, Pervez Ali Shah, Manzoor Hussain, Syed Imam Ali Shah, Muhammad Abdul Nasir and Mehar Muhammad Youaf. The following 22 senior civil judges have been promoted as additional district and sessions judges. The committee terminated the services of Qurban Ali as civil judge-cum judicial magistrate after he failed to clear the departmental examination despite four attempts. The committee ordered for compulsory retirement of Add D&SJ, Burewala, Muhammad Shafiq Butt on the charges of corruption. Jahangir Vains, civil judge, Dera Ghazi Khan was also given compulsory retirement on the charge of abuse of authority while a show cause notice has been served on Shahid Raqiq, District and Sessions Judge/Chairman Drug Court, Multan, for enhancement of punishment to dismissal of service of corruption charges. Fresh regular inquiry has been initiated against Jawwad Alam Qureshi, Civil Judge, Layyah, and Mian Khadim Hussain, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Pasrur while inquiry has been ordered to be initiated against Mahar Muhammad Nawaz, District and Sessions Judge, Lodhran and Muhammad Abdul Razzaq, Senior Civil Judge, Lodhran.
