US real enemy of Pakistan, says Nizami

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE The country is facing the biggest challenge from the US, which is the real enemy of Pakistan in the guise of friendship, said Majid Nizami, Editor-in-Chief TheNation and chairman Nazaria Pakistan Trust. Addressing a session regarding 'the challenges faced by Pakistan and future strategy at Aiwan-e-Karkunan Tehrik-e-Pakistan here on Saturday, he stressed 'we must ensure the security of our atomic assets to confront the challenges facing Pakistan today. NPT and Pakistan Movement Workers Trust jointly organised the sitting. NPT Vice-chairman Prof Dr Rafique Ahmad, Pakistan Movement Worker Begum Khalida Muneer-ud-Din, Waleed Iqbal Advocate, Begum Mehnaz Rafi, Major General (r) Rahat Latif, Brigadier (r) Farooq Hameed also addressed. Nizami said the country had been facing various problems since long. If we count the challenges, the government itself a challenge for us whether it is the federal government or those are provincial governments. India and the US were leaving no stone unturned to harm Pakistan, he added. India has occuped our jugular vein (Kashmir) since last 63 years and is constructing 75 dams on our rivers. He said the increasing inflation and lack of educational facilities especially for the poor children were also the big issues. Despite opening of Danish Schools by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, how many poor could avail these facilities, he questioned. He underlined the need for basis educational facilities for the children and added that 'we must focus to achieve progress in the fields of science and technology. Prof Rafique said the US, if killed Osama, should brought out the pictures of his killing. He said there were all speculations about the death of Bin Laden. He said the enemies of Pakistan were conspiring against our atomic assets.
