QUETTA - At least five people were shot dead and another wounded seriously in an armed clash, in Jhal Magsi district, on Tuesday.

According to Levies sources, the clash erupted between two groups at Saifabad area of Jhal Magsi when two groups of Magsi tribe exchanged hot words over a bargaining that ultimately turned into an armed clash.

Resultantly, five people, including two real brothers were killed and another sustained bullet injuries. “The clash started over bargaining of cattle,” sources said.

Law enforcement agencies rushed to the site after the incident and put a cordon while deceased and injured were shifted to nearby hospital. The deceased were identified as Yaqoob Magsi, Muhammad Ali, Abdul Sattar, Dedar Ali and Ali Magsi while injured was identified as Mir Muhammad.

Local administration has started investigations into the incident to ascertain real motive behind the incident.

It may be mentioned here that Jhal Magsi district is the hometown of Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi and on April 30th last an independent candidate Abdul Fateh Magsi was killed alongwith three of his companions in same district upon which upcoming polls were suspended in the district.
