NEW YORK: Star Wars Episode 7 is set to start shooting in early 2014, according to producer Bryan Burk.

Burk, who is co-producing the new sci-fi movie with director JJ Abrams, was asked in an interview with Collider when they would start filming.

He replied: ‘We’re progressing on a schedule to hopefully begin next year, or the beginning of next year.’

It was reportedly recently that the new film could be using the Isle Of Skye in Scotland as a potential location. But Burk remained vague on where the film would shoot saying: ‘The location is still kind of floating around in the air all depending on script and a whole bunch of other issues.’

He added: ‘Everything is kind of a free-flowing thing, and when we feel like the story level on this script and everything is really coming together and schedules are all working and pieces line up, we [will] prowl ahead.’

Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill are rumoured to be reprising their roles in the blockbuster sequel. Toy Story 3 writer Michael Arndt has been hired to pen the script for the film, which is scheduled for release in 2015.–Metro
