ISLAMABAD - Balochistan Chief Minister, Nawab Ghaus Bakhsh Khan Barozai, called on Prime Minister Justice (Retd) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso at Prime Minister House on Tuesday.

The Chief Minister briefed the Prime Minister about the preparations made by the Balochistan government for the general elections in the province. The recent attacks on candidates and political meetings in the province also came under discussion.

The Prime Minister directed the Chief Minister to further enhance the security of candidates, rallies and the masses so that political parties effectively carry out their campaigns in the province. Progress on developmental projects being completed in Balochistan was also discussed in detail.

The Chief Minister briefed the Prime Minister on issues pertaining to Balochistan and the efforts being done to facilitate and ensure smooth elections in the province. Meanwhile, Premier Khoso chaired a meeting to review the progress on Gwadar-Ratodero Road project at Prime Minister House.

During the meeting the Prime Minister approved the proposal of completing 795-km Gwadar-Hoshab Road in two years time.

The Prime Minister was told that financial allocation would be ensured by ministry of finance for timely completion of the project. The Prime Minister said that completion of this strategic road would herald a change in the socio-economic condition of Balochistan and Sindh.

Completion of this road, said the Prime Minister, will connect Gwadar port with rest of the country and this connectivity would result in the beneficial utilisation of Gwader port for the entire nation.

It was also decided that Gwadar-Turbat-Hoshab and Khori-Qubo Saeed Khan will be completed within fourteen months i.e. before June 2014.

The Prime Minister expressed the hope that the completion of the landmark project on schedule would be ensured and all stakeholders would coordinate the necessary logistics to ensure its timely completion.
