Tirades against Imran in mosques may lead to unrest: PTI leader

Staff reporter from Attock adds:

Foreseeing their defeat in the forthcoming general elections, my opponents have started a false and hate-based propaganda against me and PTI Chairman Imran Khan, which is clear violation of election code of conduct.

PTI candidate for NA-57 Malik Amin Aslam said this while talking to TheNation here at his residence. He said that this propaganda which is being done through prayer leaders of different mosques has aroused unrest and enraged PTI activists and supporters and may create law and order situation.

He said that he had informed district returning officer, returning officer, DPO Attock and other concerned to take notice of this violation. He said that he has also informed EU observers which include Sonia Miguel Pereira De Figueiredo and Alen Valentin about this violation. He alleged that a few prayer leaders including Qari Ismail of Eidgah Mosque (Lakori Road) on 3rd May in his Friday sermon made false propaganda against him and against PTI Chairman.

He further said that on the forthcoming Friday (10th May) a day before general elections a full-fledged hate-based speeches will be delivered by the prayer leaders of Mohalla Eidgah Mosque, Muslim Gunj Mosque, Ishaatul Islam Mosque of Hazro and Nartopa (mosque of Khalid Ustad and Maulana Tauheedi), mosques in Ghoughushti and Jamia Mosque, Madina Masjid, Jamia Ishaatul Islam and Loharan Mosque.

He warned that in the prevailing heated political atmosphere this hate-based sermon could lead to political unrest and law and order situation if not halted on time.

It is to be noted that for the last one week different religious and political groups have started a campaign against PTI leadership and its Chairman Imran Khan which may certainly create law and order situation in the district, specially in Attock and Hazro tehsils.
