KARACHI - A female police commando died during training at Shaheed Benazirabad Police Training Centre, Razzaqabad, Karachi on Wednesday.
Police said the trainee commando , Farah Naz, reportedly fell from a tower while performing training at the centre.
The victim’s mother, Musarrat Hussain is also a DSP in Sindh police. SHO Aslam Niazi said she fell down as she lost her grip on the rope. She was critically injured and was taken to a nearby private hospital where she succumbed to injuries. The officer said no case was registered as she died accidently. The body was handed over to her family.
Meanwhile, in another incident, an explosive device attached with an oil tanker was defused at Kemari oil terminal here on Wednesday.
Police said the improvised explosive device (IED) was attached with an oil tanker, owned by a private petroleum company, at Keamari oil terminal. Police, after being informed, rushed to the spot along rangers and bomb disposal squad (BDS).
Law enforcers cordoned off the area while the BDS experts defused the bomb.
The BDS experts busted the bomb after covering it with sand bags because it would be difficult to defuse the bomb without explosion as the bomb was attached with magnetic device.
 The device contained around 800 grams of explosives including pellets.
Police have unable to ascertain that which group was involved in planting the bombs at the terminal as it was the third attack in last 48 hours.
SHO Idrees Bangash said investigation was in progress and it would be earlier to hold anyone responsible and the motive behind the attacks.
It is worth to mention here that two oil tankers were partially damaged when two IEDs blown up at Keamari oil terminal within the jurisdiction of the Jackson police station on Tuesday.
