LAHORE - A mother of two was shot dead allegedly by her husband at their house in Faisal Town on Thursday. The body was shifted to the morgue for autopsy while the killer is at large.

Police investigators said that 35-year-old Taiba died on-the-spot, shortly after her husband opened straight fire at her with a pistol.

The family told the police that the relations between the couple were not cordial as they frequently used to fight over domestic disputes. On early Thursday, the couple exchanged harsh words over some issue. The man got infuriated, took out his pistol, and opened fire on the woman. The killer fled the crime scene instantly. The police have registered a murder case and are investigating.

Resident of Sharifpura, Muhammad Lateef, riding on a motorcycle was on his way home when a recklessly-driven truck ran over him, resulting in his on-the-spot death.

Soon after the accident, a good number of people gathered on the spot and staged a strong protest demonstration, demanding the police to arrest truck driver. Later, heavy police contingents reached there. The protesters dispersed after they were given assurance by the police that the driver would be brought to justice.

FOUND DEAD: A 22-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances from Shadman on Thursday. The body was moved to the morgue for autopsy.

Police said that the youth, unidentified so far, was lying dead near Shadman Market as they reached the spot. Some passersby spotted the body and contacted the police by phone in the morning.
