Four killed in continuing violence

KARACHI – Four killed including the activists of Pakistan Peoples Party and Muttahida Qaumi Movement in separate acts of violence in different parts of the City on Wednesday.Two workers of PPP were gunned down in Orangi Town within the remits of Pakistan Bazaar police station.Police said that the victims identified as Raza, 22, and Jahangir, 23, were sitting at a nearby hotel, where unidentified assailants riding a motorbike came and opened fire. Resultantly both the victims received multiple bullet injuries and died on the spot. Police rushed to the spot after getting information and shifted them to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy and later handed over to their families. Police suspected personal dispute behind the killing.A bullet-riddled body of a MQM worker was found from Altaf Nagar within the jurisdiction of Manghopir police station.Police said the victim identified as Sohail Karim, 30, resident of Orangi Town. Police said unidentified culprits kidnapped the victim from somewhere and later threw his body at the said place after killing. The body of the victim handed over to his heirs after postmortem at ASH. No case was registered till the filing of this report.Two alleged gangsters were shot dead in a targeted attack in Sammu Goth within Memon Goth police remits. According to initial details, the victims identified as Asif Baloch and Talib Baloch were sitting at a teashop when two armed men riding a motorcycle shot and killed them. They had been died at the spot. Their bodies were taken to JPMC for autopsy. SHO Rao Khalid said that the victims belonged to Lyari gangster group and the motive behind the incident has yet to be ascertained.In another incident of target killing, Hakeem, 35, namely Muhammad Irshad was gunned down in Orangi Town. Police officials said that deceased was sitting at his Dawakhana when two armed motorcyclists shot him dead. His body was taken to ASH for autopsy. Orangi division SP Ahmed Yar said that the motive behind the incident has yet to be ascertained. A man was shot dead and others wounded in Surjani Town Sector 51-A in Surjani police precincts.Police said the victim namely Abu-Al-Hassan, 30, was sitting with his friends near his residence when pillion riders came close to them and sprayed bullets. Resultantly all the victim received bullet injuries. Police reached the spot and shifted them to ASH, where doctor pronounced Hassan’s death and admitted Peer Jan and Qasim for treatment. Police said the victims were affiliated with Bengali Action Committee. Police said according to eye witnesses two culprits including Nasir alias Chnio and Taj alias Khan attacked the victims and later managed flee from the scene. Meanwhile, some unidentified gunmen riding a motorbike shot dead a young man near Labour Square, Quaidabad.Police said that deceased Imran alias Badshah was on his way to home when gunmen shot him five times and managed to flee. Police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to the JPMC where doctors pronounced him dead and handed over the body to the family after autopsy.Meanwhile, the bodies of three men which were sacked in gunny bags were found in the wee hours of Tuesday near Karimabad Bridge in Gulberg police precincts. The victims were identified on Wednesday as Gulzar Jadoon, Fazal Rabi Jadoon and Farhan Jadoon. Police officials said that all the victims were PPP workers and went to Lassi Goth located in Sohrab Goth on Monday evening, when they were kidnapped. Culprits after kidnapping shot them multiple times and later packed their bodies in gunny bags. The motive behind the incident has yet to be ascertained.
