LAHORE – Hundreds of industrialist have protested against the corruption and plundering of Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Marketing Company (PIEDMC) chairman SM Tanveer and his front man Saeed Sharif here in front of Lahore Press Club.

This was claimed in a press release, reached The Nation here on Wednesday.

As per press release, the Sundar Industrial Estate Owners Front (SIEOF) president Muhammad Usman and Samiullah Durrani, have urged the Chief Justice of Pakistan and Punjab Chief Minister to take notice of the corruption at Sundar Industrial Estate committed by the said two persons, affecting the transparency of the Punjab government.

They alleged that PIEDMC chairman SM Tanveer and his front man Saeed Sharif made corruption of Rs2.5 billion in establishment of 250MW Power Generation House at Sundar Industrial Estate, besides selling 200 kanals land available for the power house.

They claimed that Saeed Sharif, instead of promoting industrialization process, has started property dealership at Sundar Industrial Estate, compelling all plot holders, who are building factories or likes to start construction of factories to sale their plots.

They also claimed that PIEDMC chairman front man is also spreading the rumours that the industrial estate will no longer work. He has many times tried to rob the factory owners, compelling them to leave the estate.

They alleged that lock of plot No.37-A was broken five times, and in one incident about Rs1 million were looted by Saeed Sharif.In demand of electricity and water supply, the owners are asked to vacate plots otherwise company will acquire factory by force, they stated.

They urged Chief Justice and Punjab Chief Minister to intervene the matter and take necessary steps to stop plundering of national assets.
