ISLAMABAD - Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Pakistan leaders Senator Khushbakht Shujaat and Member National Assembly Ali Rashid separately called on former president Asif Ali Zardari here on Tuesday.

Prevailing political situation in the country and the Karachi issue were discussed in these meetings, said a statement released by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) here.

Senator Shujaat also discussed matters of Pakistan Hockey Federation and requested the former president to build a separate hockey stadium for women in Karachi.

Zardari assured her that the PPP was working for women rights and desired women to be represented in every field, said the statement.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, PPP Central Information Secretary Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed said the end of “Raiwind rulers” was imminent.

Reacting to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders’ statements against Zardari, Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed said that Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif could make “as much hue and cry as he wants but the time of his accountability has arrived.”

“Shehbaz Sharif’s involvement in mega corruption and murder of 14 innocent people will continue to haunt him,” he said.

Ahmed said Shehbaz Sharif also had to be held accountable for corruption in Nandipur power project, Orange Line train, Metro Bus, Ashiana Housing Scheme, Sasti Roti (cheap bread) project, Lap Top Scheme and Danish schools, the PPP information secretary said.

He reminded Shehbaz Sharif of his telephone calls to Judge Malik Qayyum and appointment of Rana Maqbool as inspector-general Sindh.

“Shehbaz Sharif will be answerable to all his crimes no matter how much noise he makes,” Ahmed added.

In another statement on Tuesday, the PPP said the party’s Women’ Wing President Faryal Talpur visited Sweet Home here.

“In-charge Sweet Home Zamurad Khan gave a briefing about education to children at Sweet Home Islamabad. Faryal Talpur highly appreciated the efforts of Zamurad Khan and his team and assured him of her full cooperation,” said the statement.

Senator Rubina Khalid, Chaudhry Yasin, Faisal Rathore, Chaudhry Riaz, Nargis Faiz Malik, Shazia Tehmas and Raja Kamran accompanied Talpur during this visit.
