Nizami calls for strengthening ties with Turkey, Iran

LAHORE Rumi Forum Islamabad Chairman Harun Koken on Friday visited Aiwan-e-Karkunan Tehrik-e-Pakistan and exchanged views with TheNation Editor-in-Chief and Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust Chairman Majid Nizami. NPT Vice-chairman Prof Dr Rafique Ahmad, Trust Secretary Shahid Rasheed, Rumi Forum Lahore Coordinator Aslam Bhatti were also present on occasion. Majid Nizami, during the discussion, highlighted the need for strengthen the mutual cooperation among Pakistan, Iran and Turkey in the fields of defence and economy. He said the people of both the countries have bonded with strong religious and historic relations. Prof Rafique urged to further motivate the Economic Cooperation Organisation in the mutual interests of the people of the countries. Harun Koken expressed his satisfaction over the efforts being carried out by the NPT to inform the youth about the glorious history of their forefathers. He said the people of Turkey have great respect towards the people of Pakistan and wished for the developed and strong Pakistan. It was planned that renowned Turkish scholar Dr Ihsan Yilmaz would deliver a lecture on Changing Turkey at Aiwan-e-Karkunan Tehrik-e-Pakistan on October 25.
