ISLAMABAD: Secretary Economic Affairs Division Nargis Sethi and Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong singed certificate at EAD for the Chinese Assistance amounting to $6 million for the earthquake affectees.

The assistance consists of $4.5 million in kind assistance, which includes articles like medicines, tents and other necessary livelihood articles. A cash of $1.5 million is also part of the assistance.  Speaking on the occasion, Secretary EAD thanked the Chinese government on behalf of the government of Pakistan for their prompt response during all calamities. She also highlighted the close and friendly relations between the two countries which she said is strengthening with each passing day. She also mentioned the Chinese cooperation in different sectors in Pakistan.–Reporter

The Chinese ambassador expressed the commitment of his government towards further strengthening the existing close friendly relations between the two counties. He said that Chinese government was much grieved over the loss of human lives in the earthquake. He said that China would continue to contribute in the overall development and progress of Pakistan.
