Increase in prices may stabilise the economy of the rulers but unbearable for the poor, he said. The participants raised slogans against the government and said that the government had reneged on its promises made during elections campaign. The rulers have failed to fulfill even a single promise, they added.

Muhammad Suhaib, a civil society member, and Arslan idrees strongly condemned the decision of increasing prices. Production of wheat rice and sugarcane had already been lowered down due to flawed policies and the increase would further affect the agricultural production.
