LAHORE: The Punjab Irrigation and Drainage Authority on Monday decided to pay 15per cent increase in employees’ salaries while matters pertaining to formulation of service rules referred to S&GAD.
The meeting also decided to do legislation on suspension of rotational program (wara bandi) of irrigation temporarily for the defaulters of water cess (abyana).
Minister for Irrigation Mian Yawar Zamman presided over while Irrigation Secretary and Pida Managing Director  Zahid Saeed, General Manager (TM) Afzal Anjum Toor, and newly nominated farmer members including Mian Muhammad Rafique, Arshad Khan Lodhi, Rana Abdul Rauf, Sajjad Haider Gujjar, Parveen Akhtar, Samina Noor Kharl, representatives of Planning & Development Department, S&GAD, Finance department, Agriculture department and Law department will attend the meeting.
The meeting also formulated subcommittees on service rules, audit and finance issues. It was also decided the water theft cases should be dealt rapidly. It was also decided that Lower Chenab Canal East Circle farmer organizations will be shifted from category B to category A.–Our Staff Reporter
