DERA GHAZI KHAN - As per unofficial and unconfirmed results, PML-N candidate Shamoona Anbreen Qaisrani has won by-elections in PP-240, Taunsa Sharif. 
Supporters of the winning candidate thronged her residence and celebrated her victory by dancing to the beat of drums.
Shamoona Anbreen is wife of former MPA Mir Badshah Qaisrani. Badshah joined JUI-F and won the seat in general elections, but was later disqualified in a fake degree case.
Mir Badshah had been with the PML-N as an MPA most of his political career. After developing differences with the party high-ups, he joined the JUI-F. After the JUI-F lost its lone seat in Punjab, the PML-N gave a ticket to Mir Badshah’s wife.
Rival candidate Khawaja Daood Sulemani however blamed PML-N for rigging the polls. He appealed to the Election Commission of Pakistan to take notice of the alleged rigging during the polling.
