Rs6.5 million gold theft in Karachi

KARACHI - Gold worth millions of rupees was stolen from a jeweler shop in Old City area of the metropolis.
Some unidentified culprits, by using cutter, barged into the shop. The shop was robbed on the night between Sunday and Monday.
The owner of the shop namely Qasim came to know about the incident on Monday morning. There are around 100 gold shops situated in the Sarafa market in Ranchore Lane area of Old city. Qasim, market’s union president, claimed that gold worth rupees around 6.5 million was stolen. The owner and shopkeepers of the market also staged a protest against the theft and demanded the arrest of the unidentified culprits and immediate recovery of stolen stuff.
Police lodged an FIR on the complaint of the shop owner and initiated further investigation.
