ISLAMABAD: The indictment of model Ayyan Ali in the currency smuggling case was deferred on Thursday due to the absence of her lawyer Latif Khosa.

When Customs judge Rana Aftab Ahmed Khan asked Ayyan’s junior lawyer that the model will be indicted today and “if you have any objection, consult your senior lawyer Khosa and tell the court”. Upon this, the junior lawyer Mudasir said that a complete charge-sheet against other nominated persons in the case was yet to be filed.

The judge said that he could not work at the disposal of customs officials.

“Aryan’s challan has been filed which declares her liable for the crime,” he added. The judge asked her counsel to present arguments against her indictment.

Custom officials said that a complete challan has been filed against Ayyan and requested the court to indict her without any further delay.

Ayyan’s lawyer pleaded the court to adjourn the hearing as he senior counsel Khosa could not appear before the court due to his busy schedule. The judge adjourned the hearing till October 15.
