Five alleged outlaws were killed in three shootouts with police in different areas on Wednesday.

In Kasur, four wanted dacoits were killed in two separate shootouts with police that took place in the Mustafabad and Allahabad areas of Kasur in wee hours of Wednesday.

Three dacoits made good their escape.

According to details, dacoits were fleeing after snatching a car from a citizen in Mustafabad area. However, the police at a picket attempted to stop them but the suspects opened fire. The police retaliated and as a result the two suspects were killed.

The suspects were identified as Shera alias Kaka and Arshad alias Arshi. They were notorious dacoits and were wanted by the police in numerous cases of robbery and dacoity.

In Ellahabad, two dacoits were killed by his accomplice in Ellah Abad.

According to police, two outlaws - Muhammad Asif, son of Ali Muhammad, a resident of Chak Rasaldar Hujra and Babar Ali, son of Islam Din, a resident of Batyan Hujra were in the custody of Chunian Saddr Police. Both the criminals were involved a number of cases of heinous crimes. On Wednesday, the police were escorting them to a hideout for the arrest of their accomplices in the wee hours of Wednesday. When the police reached Ellahabad near Iqbal Housing Colony on Chunian Road, four criminals, riding two motorcycles, opened fire on the police. The police retaliated and a shootout ensued a shootout ensured which continued for a half and hour. As a result the two dacoit, who were in police custody, were killed from the firing of their accomplices. The attackers, however, managed to escape the scene.

The police also recovered firearms and booty from the deceased dacoits. The dead bodies were shifted to hospital for autopsy. The police have started further investigation.

In Gujranwala, a dacoit was killed in an alleged shootout with police and two others succeeded in fleeing the scene at Kamoke on Wednesday. On a tip-off police, a team of the Kamoke City Police conducted a raid in the suburban village. However, as the culprits saw the police, they opened fire on the police. The police retaliated and a shootout ensued which lasted for quite some time. As a result, a dacoit identified as Khalid alias Khaldi was killed and his two accomplices managed to escape from the scene. The police have shifted the dead body to hospital for autopsy and registered a case.
