PEIRA asked to ensure reduction in fee

Islamabad - ISLAMABAD (APP): Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CA&DD), Barrister Usman Ibrahim yesterday directed the chairman Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) to ensure that fee, charges and funds of the private education institutions of Islamabad should not increase during 2015.
The minister while chairing a meeting directed in line with the directive of the Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif regarding the annulment of recent hike in private schools fees, said a press release.
Earlier, on the directive of the Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority issued a notification on 23rd September, directing the Private Educational Institutions not to increase any fees, charges and funds in 2015.
The notification also said that any increase in fees, charges and funds already charged by private educational intuitions shall be refunded or adjusted in the subsequent challans or bills, the notification said.
Usman Ibrahim further directed PEIRA to ensure that the private educational institutions functioning within the territorial jurisdiction of ICT should submit compliance report to the PEIRA’s notification of 23rd September by 15th October 2015.
