A 12-year-old child has been killed by Indian forces by use of pellet guns in Srinigar, reported Waqt News.

According to reports, the child identified as Junaid Ahmed; sustained critical injuries when Indian forces fired pellet guns at protestors in Saidpora, Sirinagar yesterday. He was shifted to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries earlier today.

The killing of the child sparked widespread protests across Srinagar and other areas of IHK.

According to NDTV, an Indian newspaper, the child was standing outside his home on Friday, observing the protest at Saidpora when he was hit by pellet fire and sustained critical injuries on his head and chest.

Hundreds of protestors took to the streets when Junaid Ahmed's dead body was brought home. A large procession carried his body towards a burial ground near the city's Eid-gah, but had to face more tear gas shelling and pellet fire by Indian forces which reportedly injured several Kashmiri's.
