Srinagar: In Indian occupied Kashmir, the High Court has ordered release of a boy booked under draconian law, Public Safety Act (PSA), after his mother, who is suffering from cancer, pleaded for it.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a bench of Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar in an open court ordered release of Ashiq Hussain Dar of Padshahibagh

area of Srinagar.

“Prima-facie, it appears that grounds of detention are nothing but vague and bald summery of allegations. No specific allegation is leveled against

the boy in the grounds of detention,” the bench observed and added that even no single date is mentioned about his involvement in any single

incident.

The narration of vague story contained in the grounds of detention prima-facie cannot become a ground in law for detaining a person, the court

observed, and order release of Ashiq Hussain Dar.
