Pak team to feature in weightlifting championships

ISLAMABAD-The six-member Pakistan weightlifting team will participate in the Youth World Championships and Commonwealth Youth & Junior Weightlifting Championship 2016 to be held at Penang from October 25 to 30.

Talking to The Nation on Friday, Pakistan Weightlifting Federation (PWF) chief executive officer M Imran Butt said six members including Talha Talib (62kg), Farhan Amjad (77kg), and M Saqib Saeed (85kg) will feature in Youth World Championship in Malaysia, while Abdur Rehman Butt (85kg), M Nooh Dastgir Butt (+105kg) and M Abdullah Butt (+105kg) would take part in the national junior team for Commonwealth Championships.  “National coach Irfan Butt is giving most modern training to these young weightlifters during morning and evening sessions. The team will leave for Malaysia on October 18,” Imran concluded.–Staff Reporter
