LAHORE : The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party Friday approved five development schemes of various sectors with an estimated cost of Rs5924.693 million.

The schemes were approved in the 20th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of current fiscal year 2016-17, which was presided over by the Punjab Chairman P&D Board Jahanzeb Khan. Secretary P&DD Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, Members of the Planning & Development Board, Provincial Secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant Provincial Departments also attended the meeting.

According to spokesman for P&DD, the approved development schemes included provision of clean drinking water, sewerage system, PCC and allied facilities in Shahdara and adjoining abadies, Lahore at the cost of Rs622.800m, provision of clean drinking water, sewerage system, PCC and allied service facilities in Allama Iqbal Town, Canal Park and adjoining abadies, in, WASA, LDA, Lahore at the cost of Rs499.987m, Supported Nutrition PC-I under Integrated Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child Health (IRMNCH) & Nutrition Program at the cost of Rs3,869.000m, rehabilitation of Khadir Feeder, Khadir Disty, and Chenab Escape, District Sargodha, Chiniot at the cost of Rs 876.906m and hiring of consultant firms for Capacity Building of Building Research Testing Institute in Communication & Works Department (revised) (PC-II) at the cost of Rs. 56.000m.
