KHAIRPUR - Two cops, one dacoit were killed and five others were injured in an encounter in Katcha area of Indus River near Khairpur on Friday.
On receiving information, Baberloi, Pirayloi, Fazi Muhammad Bindo police raided village Kharos in the limits of Faiz Muhammad Bindo police station of Katcha area of Taluka Pir Jo Goth district Khairpur. The criminals opened fire at police party. Police also retaliated in same manner, resultantly two cops Mubarak Ali Narejo and Muhammad Younus Kanhar were died on the spot while other four cops including SHO faiz Muhammad Bindo police station Nadir Ali Bhatti, Ali Gohar Bullo, Atta Muhammad Bhutto, Mukhtiar Sial were injured while a notorious criminal Bilawal alias Billo Narejo was killed who was wanted in many heinous crimes to Sindh police.
Police claimed that body of criminal was taken away by his other accomplices while body of cops and injured brought to civil hospital Khairpur for legal formalities and treatment.
Meanwhile, police raided at village Narej near Pir Jo goth and arrested over 40 people including women and children.
4 terrorists arrested
Nawab Shah police arrested four terrorists and recovered huge quantity of weapons on Friday.
Addressing the press conference SSP Nawab Shah Tanveer Ahmed Tunio told the media that on received information of spy police raided at Azeem Colony Nawab Shah and village Lakhmir Birohi and arrested 11 people including four terrorists. The terrorists were identified namely Sammeullah, Ameerullah, Gulzar and Muhammad Naveed. He said police also recovered 4 machine guns, 2 KKs, 5 pistols, devices, time bomb, 2 repeater. Rifles, three Tele scopes, army and police dresses from their possession which can be used in Muharamul Haram processions.
He said that terrorists were planning for terrorist activities in Nawab Shah and other parts of province. SSP appreciated the police action and recommended for awards.
MOTORCYCLIST CRUSHED
A biker was died when as jeep collided with a motorcycle on Mehran National Highway near Faiz Gunj while jeep driver fled away from the spot.
Motorcyclist was identified as Irfan Ali Arain. Faiz Gunj police took body into custody and later handed over to its relatives after legal formalities.
