LAHORE  - Two labourers died when the roof of an under-construction house collapsed on them in Sanda police precincts yesterday. 

Rescue workers said the labourers were at work when the roof of a house collapsed on them in Madina Colony. The victims were identified by police as 40-year-old Danish and 30-year-old Ramazan. 

Rescue workers rushed to the spot soon after the incident and launched the operation. They managed to pull out the bodies from the debris after one hour. 

Locals told the police that Ahmed was building a new house in the congested locality when its roof collapsed all of a sudden. The police handed over the bodies to the family. The Lahore DCO also visited the site and ordered an inquiry into the incident. 

Mum-of-five ‘ends life’ 

A 45-year-old woman yesterday ended her life by hanging herself with the ceiling fan at a private school in South Cantonment police precincts. 

Mother of five, Kiran Bibi, was working as Aaya at a private school located near Rehmatpura on Badian Road. Her body was hanging from the ceiling fan as police reached the spot. The body was moved to the morgue for autopsy. The police were investigating the death.
