HAFIZABAD-A woman was raped by her brother-in-law here in Mohallah Tajpura while the police have arrested the accused and registered a case against him.
According to police, Shabnam, sister of the victim was married off to Asif some years back. The woman, wife of Abdul Rauf, visited her sister’s house to see her but she was away at that time. Accused Asif, however, was at home overpowered the woman and subjected her to sexual assault. After medico-legal examination of the victim, the police arrested the accused and registered a case against him.
DPO TRANSFERRED
DPO Muhammad Haroon Joyia was transferred to CCPO Office Lahore and Sardar Ghayas Gul has taken over as DPO Hafizabad here on Friday.
The outgoing DPO, besides various other steps, established District Control and Command Centre in his office during his short tenure at Hafizabad for improving performance of the cops. He demoted scores of SIs and ASIs in his efforts to change Thana Culture in the district.
