RAWALPINDI - Punjab Emergency Service, Rescue 1122 Director General Dr. Rizwan Nasser Monday directed all District Emergency Officers of the province to start Emergency response awareness in the communities. The spokesperson of the Service informed that in this regard, all community awareness teams of districts including Rawalpindi, Lahore Faisalabad, Multan, D.G.Khan, Bahawalpur, R Y Khan, Sahiwal, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Murree and Sargodha would arrange demonstrations of Rescue 1122 in all schools, colleges and universities in their respective districts in order to motivate the young students to become rescue volunteer. These demonstrations will sensitise the community about emergency service, civic responsibilities and effective management of any untoward incident. Punjab Emergency Service, Rescue 1122 Director General Dr. Rizwan Nasser said that Rescue 1122, had already provided sense of safety to the community by rescuing over 3.5 lakh victims in different emergencies and disasters. The timely and professional management by Rescue 1122 staff in different emergencies has saved several victims of spinal injuries from becoming disabled and revived several victims by the professionally using emergency equipment available in emergency ambulances, he added. Punjab Emergency Service, Rescue 1122 Director General Dr. Rizwan Nasser continued that furthermore the awareness sessions would boost professional approach in the community and professionally aware and trained citizens would also help to develop safer communities.
