KARACHI - Hazrat Khadija (AS), the first wife of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), rendered meritorious services and great sacrifices for the cause of Islam during its formative years, said the speakers at a conference entitled Inter faith conference held under the auspices of the FAITH (Forum Against Intolerance, Terrorism and Hatred), at Arts Council of Pakistan. The conference participants demanded of the government to observe Youm-e-Khadija (AS) at the government level. They also condemned the attack on Federal Religious Minister Maulana Hamid Saeed Kazmi and the Gojra incident and demanded of the government to arrest the real culprits involved in these incidents. Scholars and legislators from different religions particularly Islam, Christianity, and Sikhism including President of Jaffaria Alliance Pakistan and former Senator Allama Abbas Kumaili, Deputy Speaker Sindh Assembly Shehla Raza, Maulana Akbar Dar, Allama Khawaja Ameen Nizami (Sajada Nasheen of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia shrine), Sardar Ramesh Singh, Bishop Rafique Masih, MPA Khursheed Khokhar (minority), MPA Raza Haider, Allama Aftab Jaffery, and others spoke on the occasion. Addressing the conference Deputy Speaker Sindh Assembly Shehla said that the life of Hazrat Khadija (AS) was a role model for ladies of all generations and belonging to all religions, sects and races. She said that Hazrat Khadijah (AS) lived with the Prophet (PBUH) for 25 years and was his only wife during that time saying that it was Hazrat Khadijah (AS) who accepted the faith and became the first Muslim woman. She said that her acceptance of Islam greatly helped in spreading Islam among the Makkah residents. She stood by the Prophet (PBUH) all the time. In the moments of trial and difficulty, the Prophet (PBUH) used to come to her and she consoled and comforted her husband and encouraged him. Khadijahs wealth was used for the cause of Islam, she added. Senator Allama Abbas Kumaili said that Hazrat Khadija (AS) rendered great sacrifices for the cause of Islam. During his years in Makkah, Hazrat Khadija (AS) was the main pillar of support for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). She was the first one to embrace Islam, which was the testimony of the Prophet (PBUH) character that she believed in the truthfulness of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) as the Messenger of Allah. He added the Holy Prophet (PBUH) did not marry any other women during the lifetime of Hazrat Khadija (AS) in honour of her prestige. She was the only wife of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) who bore children for him. Kumali said that Hazrat Khadija (AS) was whole-heartedly supported the noble cause of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) cause by placing her wealth at his disposal. Noted religious scholar Allama Akbar Dar said that although Hazrat Khadija (AS) came from a very affluent background but she did not shy from sacrificing her wealth for the cause of Islam. She even willingly went through difficulties of three years of social and economic embargo imposed upon Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his family. MPA Raza Haider said that said the Holy Prophet (PBUH) had great respect and affection for Hazrat Khadija (AS) and expressed it on many occasions even after her death. The Prophet (PBUH) reflected his heartfelt devotion to her during his monogamous life during their 25 years of marriage.
