LAHORE - Brig (r) Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry has said that India has heinous designs against Pakistan and to frustrate it in its designs Pakistan will have to fight another defensive war with India to teach a lesson. He was addressing a conference titled 'Defence of Pakistan on Monday organised jointly by the Nazria Pakistan Trust (NPT) and Tehrik-e-Pakistan Workers Trust at the Aiwan-e-Karkunan Tehrik-e-Pakistan to mark the Defence Day of Pakistan. Brig (r) Hamid Saeed Akhtar, Brig (r) Farooq Hameed, Col (r) Ikramullah and Prof Muzaffar Mirza also addressed. Brig (r) Zafar Chaudhry said that he was serving as a major in GHQ during 1965. He said that Hindus and Britishers conspired against Pakistan and in Radcliffe Award Gurdaspur was given to India so that it could occupy Kashmir. He said India was preparing to attack Pakistan but world powers assured us that it would not cross LoC. As such the army did not dig out fence at border nor laid mines, but the jawans were alert. Brig (r) Hamid Akhtar said that his unit was at Sialkot-Jammu Road and on the night of Sept 7 and 8 they were informed about unusual movement on the border. Brig (r) Farooq Hameed quoted Ayub Khans speech and said that the spirit of 1947 and 1965 had to be revived.
