QUETTA - Three people were killed and two wounded in separate incidents of firing, landmine explosion and hand grenade attack across Balochistan on Monday. According to police sources, unidentified gunmen sprayed the vehicle of Engineer Ali Ahmed Hazara with bullets at Sirki Road in the provincial capital. As a result, he died on the spot after receiving severe injuries. Sources say the attackers were riding a four-wheeler and it could be an act of sectarian violence. Police after fulfilling legal formalities hand over the dead body to heirs and started further investigation. Similarly, unidentified armed men targeted a barbers shop within the precincts of Satellite Town Police Station and fled after killing Adeel Awan, a resident of Shalkot in Punjab. In Dera Bugti, a person was killed with injuries to another in two different incidents of landmine blasts. Sources say the first incident occurred at Sangsila when Abdul Ghafoor accidentally stepped on a landmine, which went off, killing him instantly. The second incident took place in Sui area when a landmine exploded and wounded Zar Khan. He was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. On the other hand, a settlers house was attacked with hand grenade in Turbat. As per reports, unknown men hurled a hand grenade at the house owned by a tailor, Syed Jamal Shah, resulting in injuries to him while damage to the house. The assailants escaped from the site after committing crime. Police have registered a case against unknown miscreants and started investigation. Meanwhile, a spokesman of BLF Basham Baloch calling from unspecified location via satellite phone claimed the responsibility of the attack.
