Pakistan will import 1,000 MW electricity from Iran, as Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani and Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi in a meeting in Islamabad here on Thursday agreed to take steps on urgent basis in this regard. Iranian Foreign Minister called on Prime Minister Gilani here on Thursday. During the meeting the two countries agreed to expedite work on Pakistan-Iran Gas Pipeline project. They also agreed to take necessary measures including the removal of trade barriers for increasing the volume of trade between the two friendly countries. It was further decided to hold meetings of the joint ministerial commission on regular basis for effective implementation of decisions taken at various levels between the two countries.
