Govt taking solid steps to control energy crisis: Abid

GUJRANWALA - State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali has said the PML-N government is taking solid steps to control energy crisis.
He was speaking during his visit to the Gepco Headquarters here Saturday. He said the government was establishing power projects to enhance production.
The state minister said the government had launched an extensive campaign against electricity theft across the country which would help control energy crisis. He said police, the district administration and FIA had made effective steps to monitor and assist the power distribution companies to control power theft cases.
He directed the Gepco chief executive for holding open courts from the chief executive to the SDO one hour daily to redress customers problems. He also directed for ensuring smooth power supply to industrialists and traders, adding that they were our best pay masters and were playing an important role to run the wheel of the industry.
The minister said grid stations were being upgraded to improve power supply system across the country. The minister directed the chief executive Gepco to hold meeting with representatives of the Chamber and traders one or two time in a month to resolve their problems. Chief Executive Gepco Mahboob Aalam briefed the minister.
