ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) observed Martyrs Day at all the PAF bases across the country on Saturday. According to press release, related ceremonies were held to recall the contributions of the PAF soldiers in 1965 and 1971 wars. In this regard, a ceremony was held at the Air Headquarters (AHQ) wherein Air Chief Tahir Rafique Butt laid floral wreath at the martyrs' monument.
In Karachi, a PAF contingent led by Air Vice Marshal Syed Hassan Azhar Rizvi offered Fateha and laid wreaths at the grave of Rashid Minhas Shaheed (Nishan-e-Haider). The contingent paid homage to the young pilot. The Defence Day of Pakistan, which is celebrated by the army, air force and the navy, is a reminder of all those martyred who protected the country during the 1965 war. –Staff Reporter
