Fifteen police officials in civilian clothes among some 150 armed men opened aerial firing and grabbed a seven-marla plot in Islampura, alleged the owner of the plot.

Basharat Ali, the complainant, demanded that the chief justice of Pakistan and district police officer of Rahim Yar Khan should take an action and register a case against assistant sub-inspectors Naveed Wahla and Saif Malhi and their other companions. Basharat told the media that Naveed owned only one seven-marla plot which the latter purchased from the earlier owner. But, he added, the ASI wanted to forcibly grab another seven-marla plot at front side.

He detailed that the hundreds of people carrying sticks and arms attacked his plot. He further said that he was being threatened by the policemen that he would be killed in a police shootout. He demanded that the officials concerned should provide him with justice.

On the other side, Pakistan Transporters’ Association office-bearers have demanded an action against the Sadiqabad Sadar Police assistant sub-inspector for registering allegedly fake case against citizens in Islampura.

They demanded that the police high-ups should form a committee to probe into the matter and cancel the “fake” case.  During a meeting, office-bearers Akram, Adil, Bilal, Adnan and Boota said that ASI Nawaz got a counterfeit case registered against the realities. They alleged that the registration of the fake case was aimed to grab the plot in the area.

Moreover, civil society, trade, social and lawyers’ organisations demanded that a strict action should be taken against the ASI for “implicating” the office-bearers of the Pakistan Transporters’ Association in the case while the ASP has assured them of indiscriminate investigation into the case and an action as per the law.

Earlier, former city nazim Sajjad Ahmad, Bar Association Secretary General Iftikhar Ahmad and Waqas Ahmad advocates and others met with Sadiqabad ASP Zeshan Siddiqi at his office and informed him of the case registered against innocent citizens of the tehsil.

They also told the ASP that the ASIs misused their power and being in civilian clothes along with their companions opened aerial firing at the plot and made construction on it for grabbing. Later, they added, the ASIs got a “fake” case registered.
