LAHORE - Chaudhry M Yaqoob-led Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) Saturday banned three of its members for 10 years for forming a parallel body terming it illegal and unconstitutional.

Talking to the reporters here at a local hotel, PVF president Ch Yaqoob said: “In the PVF general council meeting, the house has decided to ban those officials who have formed an illegal and unconstitutional parallel body. Zafar Abbas Luk is the person who headed this illegal activity as he invited all the three forces to join hands with him in forming a parallel body but they all refused to be part of this illegal activity so only three persons Zafar Abbas Luk, Iqbal Khan and Major Afzal created a fake body which has backing of a few services and departments. So the house has decided to ban all the three for 10 years.”

“We want government to cooperate with us as it is the only way we can pull Pakistan sports out of crisis. Government cannot change the constitution of POA and if they want to do so they have to invite the presidents of all the genuine federations and with the consensus, the constitution can be amended which should be purely for the betterment of sports,” he added.

He said the house also decided to give affiliation to Azad Kashmir and hoped they would take active part in the promotion of the game and try to earn laurels at national and international level.
