Brig Fazal Zahoor Qadri was laid to rest with full military honour here at Astana-e-Fazal on Sunday.
Earlier, military and civil officers and a large number of people offered funeral for the departed soul while Pak Army contingent paid salute to the martyr. Meanwhile police have registered a case under ATA, murder and other sections against unidentified accused.
It is to be noted that at least six motorcyclist-borne terrorists gunned down three persons including a Bragdier of Pakistan Army and his brother and injured nine others during an attack on a gathering of gyarvi sharif at Astana-e-Fazal near 49-Tail in the remit of Cantt Police here on Sunday. According to sources, Brig Fazal Zahoor Qadri, his brother Zahoor Subhani, Sajada Nasheen of Astana-e-Fazal and a large number of people had gathered at the Astana for congregation. All of sudden six armed assailants, riding motorbikes stormed the premises of Astana-e-Fazal and opened indiscriminate firing. Resultantly Brig Fazal Zahoor Qadri, Zahoor Subhani and Mohammad Ayub sustained gunshot wounds and died instantly while Mohammad Azeem, Amjed Mehmood, Qaiser Abbas, Mohammad Zafar, Asghar Ali and others sustained injuries and were rushed to DHQ hospital where condition of two persons is said to be critical. On information the police rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area but the assailants had made good their escape. The police have launched investigation.
