LHC moved against military court decision

LAHORE - Sabir Shah, a murder convict, challenged on Monday the decision of a military court in the Lahore High Court according to which he was awarded death sentence.
Laila Bibi, the mother of the convict, filed the petition through Advocate Zia Ali Bajwa and stated that her son Sabir Shah was below his 18 years of age and was not given the right to fair trial.
Neither he was allowed to meet his family members and nor given a chance to hire a counsel to plead his case in the court, the petitioner said. The petitioner further said that there were two accused in the case but only er son was convicted and awarded death sentence which was unlawful.
A military court had convicted Sabir Shah for killing a lawyer Arshad Shah in Misri Shah area of the Lahore.
