Former chief minister of Punjab and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday has said that Prime Minister Imran Khas is not elected through votes.
He came into power through rigging and the mandate of the people was stolen in the general elections, he added.
Addressing a press conference here in Lahore the PML-N president said all the political parties have severe concerns on the electoral process.
"We will not let the parliamentary proceedings further till the formation of parliamentary commision on rigging", Shahbaz stated.
He said on the day of election Imran assured me that a parliamentary commission will be formed to probe into opposition's rigging allegations and three weeks have passed and a parliamentary commission has still not been formed, he told.
We will ensure that a commission is made at any cost," he added. Further, the PML-N president urged, "PM Imran should fulfil his promises."
"My hands are clean and I present myself for accountability before the nation", Shahbaz said.
PML-N government always presented people friendly budgets and making the life of the common people was our top priority. We decreased the price of electricity by 3 rupees per unit, we ended the load-shedding.
Shahbaz Sharif claimed that the basic commodities of life were within the reach of common Pakistani during our government. What Nawaz Sharif's govt achieved in the past five years new government reversed it in just 20 days.
PML-N president criticised that the PTI-led government increased gas, electricity and fertiliser prices just 20 days after assuming office such massive increase in prices has never been announced before at once, we will become the voice farmers and common people against this injustice.
Speaking about Prime Minister Imran Khan's yesterday's initiative for the construction of dams he said PML-N govt spent Rs122 billion for the construction of Basha Dam we have prepared the feasibility report and purchased the land.
"You don't need to collect funds for the dams you should attract the investors." "There should be no delay in power production through Basha Dam," he asserted.
He also criticised the new federal government's decision to end the ex-premier's laptop scheme. "These laptops were not given to politicians but to students who achieved top scores," he said.
In this age of technology and information, you are depriving the poor, he added.
We were the ones who really acted upon the austerity measures, we held an auction of cars at Qaddafi Stadium and did not waste public money on advertising it. "We ate daal chawal during meetings and only made special arrangements during visits of foreign dignitaries."
I have never used a government's residence so it is my request to Khan Sahib not to waste people's time and focus to address the real issues of Pakistan, he concluded.
