Intelligence agencies issue 'terror alert' in Islamabad, Karachi

ISLAMABAD/KARACHI: Intelligence agencies today issued terror alerts in Islamabad and Karachi after receiving threat calls.

According to details, the agencies received four calls regarding bomb blast at different places in Islamabad including hotels and near Parliament after which police personnel launched a search operation and also claimed to have identified the caller.

The local administration has tightened up the security at main places and declared the adjoining areas of Parliament as clear after searching.

The officers said that no suspicious material has been found during operation while the caller has been traced and will be soon captured for further investigation.

On the other hand, another red alert was issued in Karachi in a wake of security threats. The security officer said that the terrorists are likely to attack important buildings via water bowsers filled with liquid explosives in coming three days.

The field personnel have been directed to remain active during duty hours as the militants threatened to hit Bilawal House, Chief Minister and Governor Houses.
