MULTAN - The district administration have recovered illegal stock of 200 sugar bags during a crackdown launched here on Thursday.
In line with special directives of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ali Shahzad, the Assistant Commissioner City Khawaja Umair Mahmood launched a crackdown against sugar stockers and recovered 200 sugar bags from godown of Multan Traders. The godown has been sealed while application was submitted with police station concerned for registration of case against the owner.
Meanwhile, Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) have caught 82 power pilferers during separate operations launched throughout the South Punjab in a day, Mepco official said on Thursday. Mepco teams accompanying task forces raided different places in Multan, Vehari, Sahiwal, Rahimyar Khan, Muzaffargarh, Bahawalnagar, Khanewal, and Dera Ghazi Khan and detected theft of 120,000 electricity units. A sum of over Rs 1.6 million fine was imposed while two cases were lodged against the power pilferers over Involvement in tampering with body of meters, direct supply, Installing loop in meters, slowing down meters, meter dead stop and meter screen wash and other things.
