ISLAMABAD (APP) - At present, the country faces 3985 Mega Watt power shortfall as the generation stands at 12870 MW against the demand of 16855 MW. A spokesman of Ministry of Water and Power stated Saturday that gap between supply and demand is less than the gap during same period last year. He said that 650 MW power is being exported to Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC). He said the duration of load shedding is also less than the same period last year and efforts are being made to provide relief to the consumers. The loadshedding will significantly and gradually come down after increase in water releases from Mangla dam and addition of electricity from new power plants after second week of current month, he added.
