Our Staff Reporter HAFIZABAD - Due to breach occurred in the Kot Nakka branch wheat crop and other standing crops over the area of hundred acres in Kallianwala village were inundated. Resultantly, the farmers suffered colossal financial loss. A team of local journalist visited the spot and found that 30 feet wide breach had occurred at about 10am on Monday and the canal water gushed into the fields. According to villagers the breach was occurred due to negligence of the Irrigation Department. However, Irrigation SDO Muhammad Arif reached the spot and repaired the breach for avoiding further losses. The repair work has been started by the Irrigation Department in the afternoon. 19,950 KG SUGAR SOLD: 19,950 kgs sugar, 12,555 bags of 10-kgs flour and 2950 bags of 20-kgs flour were sold to the consumers at special sales points in Hafizabad, Pindi Bhattian, Jalalpur Bhattian and Vanike Tarar during the holy month of Ramazan, according official handout. Moreover, subsidized 10850-kgs sugar was sold to the consumers at Ramazan Bazar in these towns.
