KARACHI - Awami National Party (ANP) Sindh President, Shahi Syed, on Monday said that President Asif Ali Zardaris decision to reinstate the Local Government system in Sindh has foiled the conspiracy to divide Sindh on ethnical basis. Shahi Syed said that undemocratic and speedy implementation of local government ordinance in Karachi and Hyderabad had created the impression of division of Sindh on ethnical grounds. He said that opposition of Awami National Party, Sindhi nationalists parties and pro-democratic forces had compelled the President Zardari and Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul- Ebad to rethink the decision and they foiled the conspiracy of division of Sindh by taking on-time decision to restore the LG system in entire Sindh. He said that reinstatement of 2001 local government system was an unpopular decision of PPP-led government and urged the government to take all coalition partners into the confidence to decide an acceptable formula. He said that ANP had rejected the 2001 local government system and would welcome the constructive change or amendment in the system for the benefit of masses. He urged the PPP and MQM leadership to inform the masses about reason behind the restoration of failed LG 2001 system in Sindh as the three provinces of the country have rejected the system.
