Saraiki province opposed

OUR STAFF REPORTER MUZAFFARGARH - A Jamaat-e-Islami leader said that people were being punished due to wrong policies of the government, adding that the government had done nothing for the welfare of the people. Addressing a public gathering in Ali Pur, JI leader Rana Umar Daraz Farooqi said that government had spent four years in beating desks but public concerns were growing with every passing day. He said the people do not need new provinces but they need food, clothes and shelters. The government is trying to make peaceful saraiki region a battle field for their personal interests. Jamaat-e-Islami do not want new province on the ethanic basis but they want new provinces on administrative basis, he said. NGOs role praised: The district officer of the Social Welfare said that role of NGOs in the development of education was very commendable. Addressing a ceremony on 'Education and Society organised by the Welfare Council, Muzaffargarh, he said that in remote areas where there are no formal schools of government, welfare institutions are developing schools and playing their role in the development and prosperity of the country.
