LAHORE The young police officers should prepare themselves to meet the security challenges by performing their duties with honesty, devotion and dignity. Addressing to 13 trainee ASPs including one female at the districts attachment ceremony held at Police Headquarters, Punjab here on Monday. Inspector General of Police Punjab hoped the new ASPs should focus their attention in combating terrorism and curbing crimes by establishing friendly terms between the police and the public. Thana Culture has a pivotal role in the police system but the trainees should not misuse their powers, he added. He maintained that the government was paying special attention towards organising police force on modern lines, under which it was being equipped with latest technology and training for ensuring complete protection of the peoples lives and property. He advised the ASPs to ensure easy access of the people to the police officers at every level. Meanwhile, Chief Traffic Officer SSP Syed Ahmad Mobin has directed the candidates, who had been declared successful in the Punjab Public Service Commission exam, to come on August 15 at 9am at LOS City Traffic Police Lines, Thokar Niaz Baig for further orders. He also directed them to come with original documents, national identity card, domicile, attested copies of their documents and three snaps. Earlier, the CTO visited different areas and inspected the flow of traffic during rain on Monday. According to a handout, he directed to make a diversion plan for low-lying areas to maintain traffic flow on the roads.
