ISLAMABAD- Liaqat Baloch , general secretary JI has warned if gravity of situation is not realized then third party can reap benefit .

“If seriousness of situation is not realized then the third party can take mileage. Political matters will have to be stopped from drifting into blind alley and matters will have to be sorted out in consonance with democratic norms rather than toeing the line of ego,” he said this while giving briefing to media men here Friday after his meeting with interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan at Punjab House.

JI Naib Amir Mian Aslam, railway minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq and information minister Senator Pervez Rashid were also present on the occasion.

Both the sides exchanged views on the headway made so far in the process of consultation. 4-point proposals put forth by JI Amir Seraj ul Haq came under discussion as well.

Chaudhry Nisar said government is striving to resolve the issue with the spirit of reconciliation and accommodation. “We have announced inside parliament if any opposition party plays its role in resolving the political matters and strengthening the democracy , we will welcome it”, he added.

He held that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has representation in parliament; therefore, it should raise all the matters in parliament. This way not only parliament will be fortified but the democratic system will also gain strength, he added.

JI general secretary Liaqat Baloch said his party wants that all the matters are sorted out in a befitting manner and day of August, 14 passes peacefully. Staging long march or observing protest is democratic right of every party, he added.

He said that government has always seen protest of opposition with suspicious looks.  “ I don’t know strings of any one are being pulled from where. We have given proposal to the government that no ultra constitutional step be taken as if it is done so then we fear that political matters may drift into blind alley”, he underlined.

To a question he said PTI demands are very clear. Recounting of votes and reconstitution of election commission are two major demands.

He cautioned if political forces don’t demonstrate sanity then the threat of cropping up of deadlock in politics is there.

“ We have placed our proposals before the government while some proposals have been given by the government to us and we will present them before JI Amir Seraj ul Haq”, he maintained.
