Mahmood-ur-Rashid urges police to defy illegal orders

LAHORE- Leader of the Opposition in Punjab Assembly Mahmood-ur-Rashid today urged provincial police chief and Chief Secretary not to comply with illegal orders of the government.

Speaking to journalists, Rashid said that he would himself meet IGP and Chief Secretary to persuade them to stop their crackdown on peaceful political activists. “It is unlawful to harass our workers, block roads and impound motorcycles,” he said.

The PTI leader insisted that Azadi March would be held at every cost as millions of people have already started to gather in Lahore.

To a question, he advised Punjab Law Minister Rana Mashhood to avoid making irresponsible statements. “Rana Mashhood has become more loyal than the king,” he added.
