A police constable and two robbers were killed in separate shootouts occurred in different areas here on Saturday.

In Ahmedpur East, a police constable of Dhor Kot Police was shot dead when a police team came under attack from a proclaimed offender.

Constable Ishaq Kausar, a resident of Uch Sharif was killed in the early morning raid conducted in Mauza Ismaelpur.

A team of the Dhor Kot Police conducted a raid for the arrest of a notorious proclaimed offender. As the criminal saw the police, they started indiscriminate firing, killing constable Ishaq Kausar instantly.

One receiving information, heavy contingent of police from different police stations headed by Assistant Superintendent Police Mahzor Ali Ghauri rushed the scene. They cordoned off the area and launched hunt for the proclaimed offender and his accomplices. However, no arrest could be made till filing of this report.

In Rahim Yar Khan, two robbers were killed and their accomplices managed to escape after exchange of fire with police here on Saturday.

Police SHO Ghulam Dastgir said that the police chased the robbers when they were fleeing after snatching a motorcycle from Dhandi Road in Kot Sabzal area.

Upon sight of the police, the robbers started firing wshich led to a shootout. As a result, two robbers were killed in the incident and his other accomplices fled away.

Mr Dastgir claimed that the robbers were killed due to firing of their accomplices. The bodies were shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities while the police registered a case.
