Eight persons including two women were killed and 15 others suffered multiple injuries in different incidents of enmity and road accident here on Saturday.

In Toba Tek Singh, four passengers including two women died and 12 other suffered multiple injuries in a head-on collision between a van and tractor-trolley.

The timber-laden tractor-trolley was passing though Faisalabad-Jhang Road near Nawan Lahore when the accident. Police said that the passenger van was heading for Jhang from Faisalabad. The dead identified as Zubaida Bibi, Fehmida Bibi, Shahid Hussain, a Faisalabad GC University student and an unidentified 25-year-old man. All the dead belonging to Jhang while 12 passengers of the van also injured. Seven of the injured were rushed to Faisalabad Allied Hospital due to their critical condition and the rest were admitted to Nawan Lahore Rural Health Centre.

In Sargodha, two persons were killed and five others injured in crossfire between two groups over a property dispute.

Police said that armed men attacked Muhammad Riaz, his cousin Wajid and other relatives in Shahpur when they were on the way to Sessions court for a hearing of a property dispute.

As a result, Muhammad Riaz and Wajid died on the spot while five other received serious injuries.

The attackers included Saeed, younger brother of deceased Muhammad Riaz.

The bodies and injured were shifted to hospital and the police have registered a case against the assailants.

Meanwhile, the DPO suspended the Shahpur Police SHO over negligence.

In Rahim Yar Khan, a man and his son died when roof of their house caved in here on Saturday.

Another person also injured in the incident that took place in Midadil area.

Police said that a flood-affected family, hailing from Midadil area, was engaged in evacuating their house when it roof came down all of sudden.

As a result, a man and his son died while another sustained critical wounds who was rushed to hospital.
